The seminar, organized by Polo TRANSIT and Polo SOSIA, in collaboration with EEN-ALPS and  Genoa’s  Chamber of Commerce, will take place on 9 June from 10.00 to 12.00 remotely

The meeting aims to provide the subjects associated to the two Poles with a series of information regarding the new programs of the European Commission and some related initiatives, addressed to promote the process of internationalization and access to European funds, in particular for SMEs.

Regarding to Horizon Europe program, currently in the start-up phase, specific information will be provided on some calls that will be issued during the period 2021-2022, within the three Clusters of major interest to the Poles in relation to the issues addressed

A particular focus on cascade calls, which are believed to constitute an interesting opportunity for SMEs to access finance.

Finally, the services offered by the EEN-ALPS network will be illustrated, which can provide a valid support to SMEs in the process of accessing european programs and, more generally, internationalization.

The seminar, organized by Polo SOSIA as part of the animation activities, took place on 7 April remotely.

The first topic related 5G transmission system: IT risks derive not from the 5G system, which is very secure in itself, but from the applications using it and from the sharing of the infrastructure among a plurality of users. A 5G test bed is active at the SIIT laboratories on which various projects are developed, specifically addressing the issue of security: ASTRID and SPIDER, based on the virtualization of distributed ICT infrastructures, specifically address the issue of cybersecurity and protection techniques from attacks.

Various projects are then presented, carried out by member bodies of the Polo, which concern the physical safety of infrastructures and systems: CityScape operating on the domain of local public transport, X2020 platform for resilience and safety in the heterogeneous urban context, the risk analysis in Seveso plants, city-wide emergency management, weather now-casting, safety in autonomous vehicles used in the port environment.

The seminar will address the issue of security in its main components: physical security and IT security.

Following a general overview of the topic, the experiences of some of Polo Sosia Associated will be illustrated, in particular various projects recently implemented or still in progress, many of which are concretely applied on the regional territory.

The issue of critical infrastructures monitoring assumes great importance in various areas, primarily transport, just think of the classic example of road and rail bridges. The data acquired by the latest generation sensors and processed by special algorithms, such as Anomaly Detection, allow to predict the onset of critical issues early and intervene accordingly.

The seminar was an opportunity to briefly present, through the direct experience of some of the Associates of Polo Sosia, some of the most widely applied technologies in this field: from Augmented Reality , more and more used to visually present to an operator the information perceived and those processed by a central system, to satellite detection, capable of highlighting even millimeter movements of the infrastructures in the territory; from the IoT paradigm to Artificial Intelligence, capable of providing important decision support based on the integration and processing of large amounts of data.

Particular mention was made of Cymon project, concerning advanced maintenance thanks to the integration of the aforementioned technologies, tested on the occasion of the construction of the new Ponte San Giorgio in Genoa.

The seminar, although taking place remotely due to health restrictions, met with considerable interest, with the presence of over sixty people and about twenty members of Polo SOSIA.

The seminar will present a review of the most recent technologies, from Augmented Reality to satellite detection, from Artificial Intelligence to the IoT paradigm, which, when suitably integrated with each other, allow the development of solutions capable of early foresee the onset of critical issues on the large infrastructures of the territory, to intervene before possible consequences.

A particular focus will concern the motorway bridges, thanks also to the recent experiences gained by some of the Associates of Polo SOSIA on the occasion of the construction of the new San Giorgio Bridge in Genoa.

The seminar took place last November 5, with the participation of over 40 people, and the representation of over 20 organizations associated with the Pole.

The specific objective of the seminar was to offer an overview of the issues envisaged in the new European and regional programming related to the technological trajectories and to the S3 addressed by Polo SOSIA, aimed at launching subsequent proactive and interactive actions in terms of collaborations between the Associates and new development opportunities.

The interventions that followed addressed two aspects in particular: the new Horizon Europe program with the most relevant repercussions on the issue of industry, and the Interreg cross-border programming, based on specific axes of interest for the Ligurian regional territory.

The possible contribution of SIIT in favor of the Associates was also illustrated in the various phases of identifying and presenting a proposal and in the subsequent management of a project, exemplifying some possible operational schemes.
